Joli- The home of the Yapoms
Located 400 metres away from Gori village, Joli is not your regular tourist site. Dark, deep, mysterious, trees & vines, goosebumping, this place is popularly known as the home of the forest beings called Yapom. The incidents of Yapom abduction, pelting of stones to the passerby is aplenty in the village. Entering into the core of this gorge is possible only if you trek through the waters through a coarse and slippery surface- nearly 300 metres. Up for the thrill ?

Diite Waterfall-Pagi village
A relatively easy trek leads to a beautiful waterfall at Pagi village located some 7 kms away from Basar. Diite Waterfall with an approximate height of 150 metres is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Basar. The stunning waterfall cascades to a deep gorge where encounters of Labourers with Jimi Joko- a supernatural being that survives by fishing and hunting in the periphery of water bodies was heard as recent as 2020. Visitors are advised not to scream or engage in any activity that might offend the forest spirits.

Hido Hidi Waterfall in Sago village
Long and arduous trek, recommended only for the ultra fit. Start early and expect to reach the desination in the noon. This stunning waterfall is perhaps the most beautiful & highest waterfall in Leparada. Trekking to this waterfall entails passing thorugh pristine forests with abundant wildlife. EB Project Nature
4 kilometres of steep climb from Soi village will reward you with a stunning view of Basar town, or if you embark on early morning, a majestic view of the sea of clouds covering the town. But that's not the hallmark of this place. EB Project Nature is a brilliant initiative of a man named Egam Basar, who single handedly took up the gauntlet to protect the forests, its dwindling floral reserves while simultaneously protecting the wildlife. The water harvesting apparatus & the orchid garden are key attractions. This place is thronged by scientists, conservationists, scholars, nature enthusiasts & policy makers alike.
